Privacy Policy

Hungry Chess is a chess course for young children and their parents, made by Seed Synapse, operated by Jin Sun Kim (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Children never type, record or share anything personal in the app: no names, photos, voice recordings or location.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no selling or sharing of data for marketing.
- Without a family account, all progress stays on your device. We can’t see it.
- With an optional family account, we keep your email address and your child’s lesson progress, only to back it up and share it between your devices. You can delete the account in the app at any time.
1. What stays on your device
The app saves your child’s lesson history, stars, stickers and your settings (such as music on or off) in the app’s own storage on your iPhone or iPad. We don’t receive this information unless you sign in to a family account. Deleting the app deletes it, except for any copy in a device backup you make with Apple, such as an iCloud backup.
2. The optional family account
If you choose to create a family account, we collect:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes and to identify your account.
- Your child’s lesson progress: which lessons were done and when, the result you chose after each lesson (“Needed a lot of help”, “Almost” or “Got it”), the stars earned in the games, and whether you have seen the first-time guide.
- Sign-in records: a sign-in token stored on your device, and security logs of sign-ins kept by our database provider.
We do not ask for your child’s name, age, photo or any other details about your child.
3. How we use it
Only to log you in, back up your child’s progress, show the same progress on every device you log in on, and answer your support emails. We don’t use it for advertising, we don’t build profiles, and we don’t sell or share it for marketing.
4. Companies that help run the app
These service providers process data on our behalf, only to run the app, under their own security and privacy commitments:

5. How long we keep it
We keep family account data until you delete the account. To delete it, open the app, tap Account on the start screen, answer the grown-up question, and tap Delete my account. Your account and the progress saved in it are removed from our database right away; copies in our provider’s routine backups are overwritten within 7 days. Progress stored on your device is not affected. Support emails are kept only as long as we need them to help you.
6. Children
Hungry Chess is designed for children aged about 3 to 5 to use together with a parent. We do not collect personal information from children. The family account, settings and anything else meant for adults sit behind a parent check. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your choices and rights
You can see your child’s progress in the app, and delete your account and its data in the app at any time. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. We will reply within 10 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and you can contact your local data protection authority.
8. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections. Our database only lets each family read and change its own records, and only the operator has administrative access.
9. Data outside your country
Our providers may store or process data outside the country where you live, in the places listed above. We choose providers that protect data with industry-standard security.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
